I feel very blessed with the opportunity to live comfortably in Northern California with my family of four and two standard poodles. For over sixteen years, we’ve been Novato residents thoroughly enjoying the relatively close proximity to the coast, wine country, Lake Tahoe, and Silicon Valley. We’ve hiked hills, ridden on bike trails, tasted delicious food, and breathed in the ocean air.
One of the many things I’m most grateful for, living in this area, is the weather. I know, that may seem trivial, but I’ve lived through some of the most intense snow storms that would chill your body to the bone. Back in the winter of 1988, my father, Californian born and raised, moved his career and family from the Bay Area to Northeast Philadelphia. To say I was a fish out of water was an understatement. I had to learn how to adapt to the cold winters and the humid summers — stat!
Living on both coasts has provided me with an expanded view on styling for the weather and regionally. What New Yorkers wear to a party will be very different than what San Franciscans wear. Not to mention what they wear abroad.
I’ve helped Cythnia with her work outfits during a week-long conference in Germany, Lauren prepare her outfits for her daughter’s graduation in Atlanta, and Tracy’s three-week trip to Europe. All three locations had unique weather patterns and style requirements. I love collaborating with my clients on these types of projects!
You’ve heard me say it many times, and it’s still so important…
CAPSULE WARDROBES are ESSENTIAL when curating easy & comfortable outfits.
My client, Anne, has a fabulous example of how easy it is to put together a capsule wardrobe. In this case, she took a college tour trip with her daughter over Spring Break. Check out her amazing Capsule Wardrobe.
The weather is getting warmer, the celebratory invitations are coming in, and the summer spirit will be upon us soon. Book some time with me to prepare your wardrobe ahead of time. You will certainly be happy you did!
